While Wallacea Dive Cruises is primarily focused on scuba diving, we are equally pleased to welcome snorkelers on board and are committed to growing this part of the experience. Our cruises offer a wonderful opportunity to discover Indonesia’s rich marine life from the surface, with dedicated support to ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable journey.
* Snorkelers are welcome on most of our scheduled diving trips and receive a 5% discount off the published cruise rate.
* Snorkeling sessions typically follow the same schedule as the divers, with 60-minute guided sessions.
* When the boat is anchored near suitable snorkeling sites, guests may enjoy longer or additional sessions, depending on conditions.
* A dedicated dinghy always accompanies snorkelers for supervision and safety. Pick-up priority is given to snorkelers before divers surface.
* Each snorkeling site includes a briefing tailored specifically for snorkelers.
* For groups of four or more snorkelers (or when occupancy allows onboard), a dedicated snorkeling guide is provided in the water to enhance the experience.
* If a dive site is not suitable for snorkeling (e.g., deep seamounts or strong currents), an alternative nearby site will be arranged when possible. On rare occasions where no alternative is available, that session may be skipped and replaced with another during the trip.
Note: No guide provided if fewer than 4 snorkelers; a floater and boat crew member will supervise.
We also offer private snorkeling charters, where the entire itinerary is customized to visit snorkeling-friendly sites only. These charters have proven highly successful and are ideal for families or groups focused solely on surface exploration.
All our destinations are suitable for snorkeling, except the Banda Sea / Ring of Fire, which we do not recommend due to the prevalence of deep offshore sites and stronger conditions. For all other areas, we are happy to provide detailed snorkeling itineraries, whether for a dedicated snorkeling cruise or as part of a dive-focused trip.
