As the sun began to dip, the Seahorse Liveaboard found itself anchored near a quiet, unnamed island in Raja Ampat. The water was perfectly clear, and the stretch of white sand was simply calling us closer.

So, we decided to step off the deck and set up a special BBQ right on the beach. This isn’t something printed on our official Raja Ampat Liveaboard itinerary, we just found that the weather was perfectly calm and the tides were just right.
Nature had been completely on our side for our dive earlier in the day, so everything lined up perfectly for us to celebrate the success of our Raja Ampat diving.
Aboard the Seahorse, our goal is never to treat guests like just another customer. From the moment we raise the anchor and set sail, we become a little family. We share everything on this Raja Ampat boat tour, the shifting tides, the warm ocean breeze, and the thrilling stories scrawled in our dive logs.
We brought a long wooden table down from the cabin and lit a few simple lanterns. There were no fancy decorations or formal dress codes, just a priceless evening together outside our diving cruise.
We sat around the table as the daylight faded, talking endlessly about our dive journeys, the peacefulness of being out on the water, and sharing little slices of our lives from back home.
To go with our endless talking, our talented Chef Ramli, from Sulawesi who are expert in local and Asian food, prepared a wonderfully comforting meal that night. The grill was filled with a vibrant mix of fresh seafood and tender meats, all infused with rich local spices that added a familiar warmth to our dinner.
The meal was perfect to enjoy with a cold drink while we waited for the sun to finally go down. As the sky grew dark, one of our crew members brought out his acoustic guitar, and everyone started singing along together under the stars.
Thankfully, there was no one else around, so we made sure to sing a little louder to light up our evening.
This special evening reminded us that the best parts of a journey are often the simplest ones, especially on this Raja Ampat Liveaboard. We didn’t need anything fancy or overly elegant to have a memorable diving journey. Just having good people around us, sitting at the table, and enjoying warm, genuine food was more than enough.
